This year’s celebration followed the official international theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Family, One Future”. KLU’s vast green campuses saw an excellent turn out from students and faculties as they participated in instructor-led sessions. In this article we will give you a snapshot of the event.

Yoga for One Earth, One Family, One Future

The theme for this year is particularly very relevant for KL University.

The 2025 International Yoga Day theme highlights yoga’s power to unite. Unite within ourselves, with others, and with the planet. It emphasizes how personal well-being and environmental harmony are deeply interconnected.

This is interesting given that KL University emphasizes on health as well as sustainability. Further, yoga's core principles of balance, compassion, and unity align perfectly with KLU's vision of shaping responsible global citizens.

With this, KL University reaffirms why it stands among the best universities in India, distinguishing itself as an institution where education meets a social cause.

Reflection & mindfulness at one of the best universities in India

At all the campuses, the day began with the students assembling on the expanses of lawns and gardens. The yoga class featured set of asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises) and guided meditation sessions conducted by trained yoga instructors.

The silence of the green, the morning air, the birds singing added greatly to the therapeutic experience.

“Yoga under the open sky, breathing in fresh air, it made me feel completely here and now” one student said. “It wasn’t just exercise; it was healing the body.”

Always having a mindful approach to everything is one of the main reasons why KLU stands as one of the best universities in India.

Yoga at KLU - Not a one-off

There is a dedicated day observed as the International Yoga day that comes once a year, but the values it promotes are rooted in KL University’s culture itself. What do you expect from the best universities in India? It’s the overall development, which means nurturing physical, mental, and emotional wellness combined with academic growth.

Throughout the year, students at one of the best universities in India are supported through:

  1. Regular yoga and meditation sessions

  2. Modern gymnasiums for students

  3. Intramural sports, fitness activities, and walking tracks

  4. Wellness workshops and mental health initiatives

This emphasis on health and fitness is part of KLU’s broader commitment to building balanced, healthy future leaders. Another reason is that it is counted among the best universities in India.

A perfect way to unwind & connect

The 11th International Yoga Day at KLU was for all, students of all years and streams, faculty from all departments and campus staff. It was not only there to instruct yoga techniques, but also to offer a break from the fast pace of academic life, a break that would give students the chance to stop and breathe, reflect, and connect.

For faculty, it was a time to step outside of classrooms and lead by example, embracing the idea of lifelong wellness. For students, it was an opportunity to gather and relax, relieve stress and do something profoundly grounding.

“It felt like the perfect reset button. This needs to be a part of every campus culture.” said one of the faculty members.

Final words…

By celebrating Yoga Day with such heart and purpose, KL University again showcased why it remains a frontrunner among the best universities in India. It stood by its commitment to holistic development, encompassing spirit, mind, and body.
